The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is one of the world’s leading dance examinations board.From Ballet to Ballroom, they cover the full spectrum of genres and for more than 100 years they have provided training for dance teachers and examiners, enabling them to enter their students for examinations, develop new techniques and enhance their understanding of dance.

As a teacher with the ISTD you will increase your skills for employment as the syllabus is taught in more than 75 countries around the world and there are regular job vacancies and opportunities to travel and work around the world.

This is an extra-curricular dance teaching programme enabling you, as a BA (Hons) Dance student, to work towards achieving the DDI teaching qualification in the dance genres of Modern Theatre and Tap dance.

As well as studying on a Monday/Tuesday evening, you will also be required to commit to scheduled lessons in certain reading weeks in the year (These will be outlined during enrolment week).
