Students who study on the BA (Hons) Dance degree at the University of Lincoln can also work towards achieving the British Ballet Organisation (BBO) Teaching Diploma at Levels 3, 4 and 6.

BBO is a dance training and educational establishment founded in 1930. It is internationally acclaimed as an Awarding Organisation for Dance, validated by the Council for Dance Education and Training and Ofqual for graded, vocational, recreational / community and teacher qualifying examinations.

The BBO’s teaching qualifications are at three levels:

Level 3 ( Equivalent to A Level / BTEC)

Level 4 (Equivalent to the first year of a degree)

Level 6 (Equivalent to the final year of a degree)

The credits gained for each course can be accrued towards a full Teaching Diploma with Approved Teacher Status at Level 4. Further credits at Level 6 gain a degree level Dance Teaching Qualification. You can then apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status which will enable you to teach in the further education sector.
